DNB FIRST LOYALTY TO SERVICE AWARD
DOWNINGTOWN, Pennsylvania – March 1, 2007 – DNB Financial Corporation, parent company of DNB First, National Association, announced today the 2007 award recipient of The DNB First Loyalty To Service Award, to honor outstanding professionals in the field of social work, who exemplify professionalism, integrity and commitment.
The 2007 recipient of The DNB First Loyalty To Service Award is Heather Smith from Human Services, Inc. in West Chester, PA. The award recipient was formally introduced at a meeting today at the Radley Run Country Club in West Chester, PA. Ms. Smith has over 16 years experience and is currently a supervisor of Building Bridges & PATHH programs where she works with the homeless in Chester County.
"I am honored to be here today and personally congratulate the 2007 recipient of The DNB First Loyalty To Service Award, Heather Smith. It was particularly inspiring that Heather was nominated by some of her former clients, who can speak first-hand, about her caring and commitment to social work," said William S. Latoff, Chairman and CEO of DNB First. "It will be our pleasure to formally honor Heather at a breakfast at the Mendenhall Inn, Mendenhall, PA, on May 3, 2007," said Mr. Latoff.
Also being honored on May 3rd for their outstanding contributions to the field of social work are: Doug Waegel, from Chester County Department of Children, Youth and Families and Dolly Wideman-Scott, from the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County.
"At last year’s award ceremony we announced the creation of The Honorable Robert J. Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award in Social Service in memory of our dear friend, the late Senator Robert J. Thompson. It is a unique honor to announce that Margaret (Peggy) Gusz, the Executive Director of the Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County is the first-ever recipient of this award," said Mr. Latoff.
